Military already know a FOB.  For those new to the term, it is a Forward Operating Base.  A Spiritual FOB is a sanctuary for reflection, meditation, or prayer, or even a mindset that serves as a base of strength and purpose.  

This year has been a challenge for so many.  It is hard to discern when reactions are motivated by fear or by love.  Is anything within my control?!  
My choices are within my control.  When my motivations are more aligned with God's mission for my life, my choices can flow from a place of love and not be controlled by my fears.

How should we be able to manage bad news?  We will explore how fear plays a part in our decisions, how to create an environment of more control, and discover methods to bring a method of love back into the equation for serving out our mission daily.

This Spiritual FOB Retreat has been designed and developed by military women for military women of varied faiths.  Fort Story is home to a DOD private beachfront, two historic light houses, and a chapel with a Sunday morning mass!!  If we are lucky, we can hear and see the dolphins.

We will be praying, cooking, and camping outside together to create connection with each other and with our God.  Registration includes the campsite reservation, dinner, and breakfast.  Those who are Catholic, the sacrament of Eucharist and Confession will be offered at the chapel.
 
Two tents fit per site, Apostolic Soul has several but please bring one. There is also the option of open-air camping (the Apostolic Soul founder sleeps open air often) as well as a minimal number of cabin sleep spots available.  

It is preferred to take on the outdoors as part of the experience to follow in the footsteps of so many of the women service members and saints before us, rooted in the Commander of Creation.  

If you are not able, you may stay on the town, but the extra cost is not included in the retreat.
