The Prep Academy at the APAA is designed to prepare youth for the ACADEMY program at the APAA, which is an individualized pre-professional/pre-collegiate performing arts conservatory, for artists committed to deepening their performing arts education in American Musical Theatre through two primary components: The Professional Performing Arts Classroom and Professionally Produced Theatre for Young Artists.
The Prep Academy accepts students from 1st-5th grade. After fifth grade, prep students may go on to participate in our Academy Program, which is nationally recognized.The Prep Academy will be presenting Madagascar Jr. with the Intermediate Academy students this year as part of their fall Professional Produced Theatre on December 15-16th. In the Spring, they will be presenting Mary Poppins on June 8-9th with the Academy and Community Students.
Along with their classes and performances, the Prep Academy students will be traveling to Atlanta to participate in The Junior Theatre Festival over Martin Luther King Weekend.
