Our RLM Volunteer Trainings are held quarterly during the school year and are designed to encourage, equip, and connect volunteers walking alongside refugees across the metro. Dinner included.
Event Topic: Building
Authentic Intercultural Friendships
Summary: Building authentic friendships cross-culturally with those who have left their homelands due to tragedy takes a degree of intentionality, cross-cultural competency, and thoughtfulness. There may be elements of this that have never even crossed your mind before. Come join us as we explore several ways to begin and grow in this intentional friendship building process.
Speaker: Jean Johnson serves as a missionary and coach as well as the Executive Director of Five Stones Global (formerly known as World Missions Associates). She has over 29 years of ministry experience including church planting among Cambodians in the Twin Cities and in Cambodia. One of the key starting points of her journey was friendships she had with Southeast Asian refugees in her high school. Presently, Jean makes her home in Richfield where she enjoys reading, writing, spending time with family and friends, walks in nature, biking, and ice cream.
We hope you can join us!
