June 27th-30th -In this 4 day workshop you will learn the basics of oil painting materials and techniques. You may purchase a beginner oil painting set or bring your own supplies, after signing up I will e-mail information about basic painting supplies to bring. This workshop will be held at my studio in Hamtramck. I will have multiple still lifes set up to paint from and we will go over over composition, value, edges, texture, and more. You may create multiple paintings, or focus on one throughout the workshop. The workshop will be from 9am-12pm each day or 1pm-4pm. This workshop will be held at my studio in Hamtramck. I will have multiple landscape images to paint from or you may e-mail an image and we will work towards painting your own landscape. In this workshop we will go over over composition, working in layers, laying in value, working in 3-dimensional planes, and more. You may create multiple paintings, or focus on one throughout the workshop. The workshop will be from 9am-12pm each day or 1pm-4pm. July 25th-28th -In this 4 day workshop you will learn the basics of oil painting materials and techniques. You may purchase a beginner oil painting set or bring your own supplies, after signing up, I will e-mail information about basic painting supplies to bring. This workshop will include a live model to paint or if you prefer to draw from life. We will begin by going over basic anatomy and face proportions and move into motion, skin tones, and how to lay in value. Each day will have a quick lesson in figure painting followed by painting the model. This workshop will be held at my studio in Hamtramck. The workshop will be from 9am-12pm each day or 1pm-4pm. This set will include all materials needed for the workshop. You will receive oil painting brushes, oil paint, painting medium, brush cleaner, painting palette, aluminum travel easel, palette knives, and a set of panels and canvas to start out with.
