Additionally, Sennelier has increased the paint's honey content, lending it a smooth consistency and extraordinary luminosity. Honey helps the paint stay wet longer on the palette and makes it easier to reconstitute if it has already cured.
Although Sennelier still grinds each pigment and its medium on a granite surface to obtain extra-fine consistency, the entire Sennelier line has been updated to reflect 21st century advances in pigment composition, resulting in the lightfastness desired by today's painters.

Rick Kitagawa is an award-winning visual artist, storyteller, and arts educator based in the foggy hills of San Francisco. With degrees from UC Berkeley and Academy of Art University, Rick is a multidisciplinary artist that weaves together digital with traditional media, text and imagery, abstract and figurative subjects, and painting and printmaking. What results is a visual journey into a dark world of his own that pays homage to the horror genre, identity politics, and pop culture all while examining the human condition and the darkness within us all.
A sponsored artist for Crescent, Savoir-Faire, and KRINK, Rick teaches demos at art supply stores in Northern California and beyond, and in art schools in the Bay Area. His work has hung in venues all over the SF Bay Area, including SPACE gallery, Big Umbrella Studios, and 111 Minna.
As an arts educator, he has taught workshops for Apple, the Museum of Craft and Design, and the Academy of Sciences, and teaches business courses for artists at the Academy of Art University. He also is the founder of Lift Off Art, a private arts education curriculum that teaches artists how to deal with both the business, practical, and emotional aspects of being a professional artist.
Additionally he co-owns and operates the t-shirt/screen printing business known as The Lords of Print and has live printed everywhere from small corner markets in the Mission to the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to Moscone Center.
