Holy Angels is a unique education environment intended to support solid educational goals, encourage a social atmosphere, and keep God as the source and summit of all academics.
I am a homeschooler with 21 years of experience, four high school graduates from three different state mandates, and one child still in high school. As each of our children began high school, their inconsistent dedication to academics began to strain our home and relationships. Holy Angels is repeating the best lessons learned from various hybrid and cooperatives we have participated in over the years.
Holy Angels is supported by Apostolic Soul ministries, a family business, and the Fort Eustis Chaplain Corps. You must be able to have base access to attend. All parents agree to a background check per chapel requirements for safety for all.
We meet September through May twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday, from 0830 to 1500 to teach Religion, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Students are split into grade groups: lower elementary, upper elementary, middle school, and high school. We are praying for some blessed person to be paid to run a nursery for us during the school year as well. Please, join us in this prayer.
We use The Good and the Beautiful for elementary grades, and a separate curriculum for Middle and High School. Currently, we are evaluating middle and high school curriculum for the upcoming year.
Mass is included daily as part of the lunch break. And, we try to integrate some liturgical celebrations, holiday parties, and field trips for morale and shared memories.
There is no charge to attend, purchasing your own curriculum books is mandatory. And all parents are asked to teach classes suited to their strengths. Nursing babies are allowed in class with mother/teachers. Again, we are praying for a space for our "not-quite-preschoolers", but they can be in classrooms as well with monitored behavior.
You do not have to be Catholic or Christian to attend, but (as with any private education) know that religion is part of the curriculum. If you are not practicing a religion, talk to me... I am experienced with ecumenicalism. Faith and prayer is a life skill no matter your religious preferences. Someday, prayer may save your state of mind even if it is not on your mind right now.
Any questions??? Contact me! I am very open to conversation about our program.
