Choose Joy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting families recovering from house fires. We provide direct assistance, case management, and year-round programming including Toys for Tots – Kent County.

Our volunteers make this work possible — both in person and remotely.

VOLUNTEER FAQ

Are volunteers paid?
Volunteers are unpaid. Depending on the role or event, volunteers may receive event access, camping (where applicable), water, snacks, and appreciation perks. Certain certified positions (such as bartending) may be eligible for tips when permitted by venue policy.

Can I volunteer remotely?
Yes. Administrative support, marketing, grant research, donor outreach, and some case support roles may be completed remotely.

Do you provide documentation for required community service hours?
Yes. We can provide verification letters and signed hour logs upon completion of service.

Shift Length
Event shifts typically range from 3–6 hours. Remote roles may be task-based or scheduled.
