The Lassiter High School Fencing Team’s 2015 Summer Camps offer your child a chance to experience an exciting Olympic sport in a fun, challenging environment. This camp is designed to give our campers an exciting experience no matter their skill level. This years Camp is held at Premier Fencing Alliance 4,605sqft facility located in Marietta, Ga. Students must be 13+All gear is provided. Each camp runs from 9am-4pm. Early drop off and late pick up available. Daily rates available.
About the Lassiter Fencing Team
The Lassiter Fencing Team is a club sport at Lassiter High School. The Lassiter Fencing Team just finished its 9th season in Georgia High School Fencing League. Out of 16 teams, Lassiter finished the season ranked 3rd in Womens, and 4th in Mens. Lassiter fencer Donovan Munlin also finished the regular season in 1st place.
About the Coaches
Audrey Barroso
Coach Audrey is the founder and Owner Of Premier Fencing Alliance. She has over 17 years of fencing experience. As competitor she was nationally and internationally ranked in both Junior and Senior. In 2006 she was the Junior Pan American Champion, taking gold in both the individual and team events. She earned a scholarship to Temple University where she was elected Team Captain. Before starting Premier Fencing Alliance she worked at the North Atlanta Fencing Center. She is currently the head coach of the Lassiter High School fencing team.
Dimitri Kirk-Gordon
Coach Dimitri Kirk-Gordon has over 19 years of competitive fencing experience. He has competed nationally and internationally in countries across the world and has competed in the highest level tournaments in the world. He began his fencing career in Atlanta, Georgia at the age of ten. within his first year he attained both regional and national success. At 14 he moved to San Jose, California where he trained at Stanford University. At 16 he became a member of the United States Cadet and Junior national team. He also represented the United States in the world championships in Antalya, Turkey where he placed 5th place in the Cadet World Championships. At 17 and 18 he continued to represent the United States in Trapani, Italy and Plovdiv, Bulgaria. At the age of 20 he earned a scholarship to fence for The Ohio State University. He began coaching five years ago in Decatur, Georgia. Dimitri is currently the Head Coach of Premier Fencing Alliance. His students have achieved numerous regional accolades, and have gone on to compete at the national championships.
About The Camp
This camp is designed to benefit both new and experienced fencers. New students will learn basic fencing skills such as footwork, bladework, distance, and timing. For our experienced fencers the camp will have heavy emphasis on the fundamentals while providing a tactical understanding of the game.
